Skypiea’s current civilization maps to Cambodia — the Tonle Sap lake, Phnom Penh Royal Palace, and Sambor Prei Kuk temples. But ancient Shandora is a completely different model: the Maya city of Tikal in Guatemala. This double structure is deliberate, and it explains why Shandora disappeared.
