Before the Void Century
Approximately 5,000 Years Ago

[“The Tree of Knowledge” — 5,000 Years Old — Is Born]
The Tree of Knowledge at Ohara, the sacred land of archaeology.
The Buster Call burned the town and the tree to ash, erasing Ohara from the map — but Vegapunk and Hyldon later came to collect books, so the island itself still exists and can be visited.
Approximately 4,000 Years Ago

[The “Arabasta Palace” Is Completed]
The Arabasta Palace boasts roughly 4,000 years of history — meaning it was built more than 4,000 years ago.
Approximately 3,000 Years Ago

[An Ancient Research Facility Appears on Elbaf]
According to Vegapunk, the facility is “at the very least 3,000 years old.” Its power source remains a mystery.
Given its giant-sized scale, the giants of that era must have included not only warriors but also scientists.
Approximately 1,000 Years Ago

[Zunesha and the Mink Tribe’s City Are Born]
Zunesha has lived for over 1,000 years, and the city on its back has a history of equal length. Does that mean Zunesha was born to carry the Mokomo Dukedom?
The Void Century (900–800 Years Ago)

[Not a “Century of War”?]
About 800 years ago, a great war broke out between a certain great kingdom and a coalition of 20 kings. The coalition won — and their descendants have ruled the world as Celestial Dragons for over 800 years.
It is nearly certain that Joy Boy was among the defeated.
The Void Century most likely refers not to 100 years of continuous war, but to the roughly 100 years it took to erase all evidence of the war — its causes, the losing side’s justifications, and any proof of their legitimacy.
In summary…
- Up to 900 years ago, a certain great kingdom stood at the center of the world
- Those who envied its power set a trap that sparked the conflict
- Full-scale war became unavoidable; the coalition ultimately won
- The victors claimed the world, made their descendants’ power absolute, and completely erased all records of the defeated
Approximately 900 Years Ago

[The Tontatta Tribe’s “Era of Slavery” Begins]
900 years ago, King Doflamingo and the Tontatta signed a treaty promising “resources and safety in exchange for a little labor.”
But it was an unequal treaty — the Tontatta were kept as slaves until King Doflamingo abandoned his kingdom and moved to Mary Geoise.

[The Iron Giant Emeth Is Built]
A massive robot constructed with ancient technology and materials far beyond the modern era. Even Vegapunk’s knowledge couldn’t identify its power source or make it move… until Luffy became Nika and it suddenly sprang to life.
Is the power source Nika’s rhythm?
Approximately 800 Years Ago

[The World Sinks 200 Meters Underwater]
A great war raged during the Void Century, and the “Ancient Weapons” used in it caused the world to sink 200 meters beneath the sea. Today, people live on fragments of the continental shelf.

[The Kozuki Clan Creates the Road Poneglyphs]
The Kozuki Clan of Wano created the indestructible Poneglyphs so history could not be erased by the victors.
This tells us the Kozuki Clan were allies of a certain great kingdom — and that they were on the losing side.
[Joy Boy Sends an Apology in Ancient Script to the Mermaid Princess (Poseidon?)]
Perhaps Joy Boy asked the Kozuki Clan — while they were carving historical records — to also carve his letter of apology?
If so, Joy Boy composed the words while the Kozuki Clan engraved them in stone, confirming that Joy Boy and the Kozuki Clan were comrades.
[Kozuki Toki Is Born]
Toki was born 800 years ago and used the power of the Toki Toki no Mi to leap forward through time.
We know she was headed for Wano — but her true purpose has yet to be revealed.
[19 Kings Move to Mary Geoise]
The 20 kings who won the great war moved to Mary Geoise, which they had conquered — meaning the ones who lost were those who had originally lived there.
Long ago, Mary Geoise was home to the Lunarians, a people called gods.
Could the great kingdom have been the nation of the Lunarians?
[The World Government Is Founded]
The great war ended, and history became traceable again — 800 years ago.
The World Government, founded at that time, declared it illegal to investigate the history of the Void Century.
Forbidden: learning that there was a war, who fought whom, why it was fought — all of it.
There must be a very inconvenient truth hidden beneath all this.
[CP9 Takes Dominion Over Enies Lobby]
Perhaps Enies Lobby, guarded by successive generations of CP9, became property of the World Government around 800 years ago?
[Shandora Is Destroyed]
Shandora, home to the Poneglyph that marks the location of the Ancient Weapon Poseidon, was also destroyed 800 years ago.
Does that mean the Shandia participated in the great war? And if they were on the losing side, were they allies of Joy Boy?
[Poneglyph Decipherment Is Made Illegal]
Attempting to decipher the Poneglyphs left by the Kozuki Clan of Wano was declared a crime.
Is it because deciphering them would expose the full story of the great war — something inconvenient for those in power?
After the Void Century
Approximately 800 Years Ago (After the Migration of the 19 Kings)
[The Riku Royal Family Is Born in Dressrosa]
The ruling house of Dressrosa shifts from the Donquixote family to the Riku family.
The kind-hearted Riku family apologized to the Tontatta, who had been treated as slaves, and granted them freedom.
Approximately 700 Years Ago
[Construction of Tequila Wolf Begins]
Tequila Wolf — a massive bridge built using forced labor from citizens of nations that refused to join the World Government, as well as criminals.
Construction has been ongoing for roughly 700 years.
Approximately 500 Years Ago
[“Oz the Land-Puller” Was on a Rampage]
About 500 years ago, Oz was alive and causing havoc.
Incidentally, the “land-pulling myth” is a legend from Izumo Province in Japan.
Approximately 400 Years Ago
[Montblanc Noland Sets Sail from Villa]
This was in Sea Circle Calendar Year 1120, June 21st.
[Montblanc Noland Lands on Jaya]
This was in Sea Circle Calendar Year 1122, May 21st.
[Montblanc Noland Returns to Jaya]
This was in Sea Circle Calendar Year 1127, November 16th.
[Half of Jaya Is Launched into the Sky]
This occurred in Sea Circle Calendar Year 1126.
400 years after that is the world Luffy and crew are adventuring in — approximately Sea Circle Calendar Year 1500.
The “Age of Pirates” in the world of One Piece is modeled after the real-world Age of Discovery, which began around 1500 CE.
If Sea Circle Calendar = CE, then 800 years before the end of the Void Century would place that great war somewhere between 600 and 700 CE — an interesting period to look into.
Approximately 200 Years Ago
[The Ryugu Kingdom Joins the World Government]
Until then, fish-men and merfolk were classified as “fish.” In other words, they were not recognized as people with rights until 200 years ago.
[The Iron Giant Attacks Mary Geoise]
The Iron Giant climbed the Red Line and attacked Mary Geoise, but ran out of energy before harming anyone in the city — no casualties.
The dormant Iron Giant was secretly kept for research by order of Saint Saturn, Warrior God of Science and Defense. The government kept ordering it disposed of, but the curiosity of scientists preserved it — eventually passing it down to Egghead and into Vegapunk’s hands.
