Ulti Joins!
Yamato cover story Vol.31: “I’ll never forget this kindness! I’ll be your follower!” Ulti became Yamato’s subordinate. The setup was predicted — it mirrors Pekoms’ arc in Zou, where gratitude translated into loyalty. Page One naturally follows where Ulti goes.
Yamato’s goal is to become Oden, which means accumulating followers the way Oden did. The roster is taking shape along those lines:
- Right arm: Kinemon (descendant of Fugetsu Omusubi?)
- Left arm: Den Jiro (descendant of Ugetsu Tempura?)
- Ninja: Raizo
- Otama
- Siblings: Izo & Kikunojo → Ulti & Page One
- Wild card/traitor: Kanjuro → Who’s-Who? Jack?
- Monster: Ashura Doji → Sasaki?
- Animals: Inuarashi, Nekomamushi → Speed
Brook’s Time as Guard Captain
Brook knew about the God’s Knights — and it’s now revealed he was originally the captain of a royal guard in some kingdom. The likely sequence: his royalty attended a Reverie and learned of the God’s Knights’ existence firsthand, then returned and told Brook’s guard to become the strongest protectors in that same image. Interestingly, Jinbe also transitioned from a kingdom’s soldier to pirate — the same path as Brook.
Does Im-sama Make Subordinates Immortal?
Gunko had her upper body blown off, yet her body regenerated — cracking and snapping back together. The Aro-Aro no Mi is not Logia, so this isn’t elemental intangibility. The regeneration looks identical to what the Five Elders demonstrated. The most coherent explanation: direct subordinates of Im-sama are granted some form of immortality or extreme physical resilience. If that’s the pattern — Five Elders, God’s Knights, Gunko — then the question of how to actually defeat Im-sama’s inner circle becomes a real one.
Incidentally, it seems Gunko was not actually a Soul King fan. The revelation lands differently in hindsight.
Loki is Too Adorable
Loki ate so much he became visibly round. Not a rubber man, but somehow inflated instantly. It’s objectively cute, and a character moment that makes the giant prince much more endearing as a potential ally.
