The Pirate King, His Wings — and the Queen?

The color spread this issue is immediately exciting. Seeing this generation lined up alongside the Roger Pirates drives home just how far Luffy’s crew has come. Luffy as the future Pirate King naturally shares many traits with Roger — the same straw hat, “that phrase,” Ganfor of Skypiea saying “you resemble Roger,” the ability to hear the voice of all things. Five chapters ago, a single panel with Gaban revealed that Roger’s two wings were rivals, just like Zoro and Sanji.
That raises the question: who was the Nami equivalent in the legendary generation? The character in the position of the one at the center? That might be what the chapter title answers. Who is the “idol”?
The Empress of the Nine Snake Pirates

Nine Snake Clan. Peerless beauty. Loses strength when her name is called. That’s Hancock. But Hancock is a Devil Fruit user — the Mero Mero no Mi provides some enhancement to her appeal (like Alvida after the Sube Sube no Mi). Shakuyaku, by contrast, had zero Devil Fruit assistance — naturally born, no powers, and she was the #1 beauty of her era. Pure natural talent. Exactly like Komurasaki (Hiyori).

Comparing these two natural beauties: Shakuyaku winked at Rayleigh; Hiyori slept beside Zoro. Both show clear interest in the stoic right-hand man of the Pirate King’s crew. Shakuyaku ultimately got Rayleigh — so Hiyori probably gets Zoro. Momonosuke would certainly welcome Zoro as family, and Zoro is Shimotsuki by blood, which makes him a daimyo house — a perfect match for a Kozuki daughter.
Conclusion: Shakuyaku occupies the Hiyori position — the natural beauty paired with the Pirate King’s silent right arm. So who is Nami’s equivalent in the legendary generation? Probably Rouge, who ultimately bore the Pirate King’s child. Which would mean Nami’s real name might include a “D”.
Armament Haki Cannot Be Used on Beautiful Women

If you block with Armament Haki, the attacker takes the rebound damage — so against a beautiful woman, you either take the hit unguarded or you hurt her. There’s no winning scenario. This exact dynamic appeared during the Black Maria vs. Sanji fight. Incidentally, that fight also contains a notable One Piece detail: when Robin arrived via intercom broadcast and said “Sanji” directly to his face — that was actually the first time Robin ever called Sanji by his first name in the entire manga.
The Truth Behind the God Valley Incident — Half Revealed

Rocks wanted two specific Devil Fruits to become King of the World. One was “probably on Elbaf” and “only reaches full power when eaten by Harald” — implying the fruit’s strength scales with the size of the user. Loki eating it after becoming as large as Harald = the right call. Rocks acquired the second fruit.
Retracing how this played out: The World Government stole “it” from Hachinosu → The Celestial Dragons used it as the prize for their human-hunting game on God Valley → Jinny, a professional eavesdropper and communications expert, intercepted that intel and leaked it to attract pirates as cover for a slave escape → The Rocks Pirates arrived to reclaim it → Roger, who had also heard the leak, arrived too → In the chaos, Jinny stole the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi and Kuma escaped → Roger found Shanks in a treasure chest. What “it” actually was and who ultimately got it remains unknown — it wasn’t the Uo Uo no Mi Model: Azure Dragon that Big Mom gave Kaido, which would have been a bonus item at best. Could it have been the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi? Or something else entirely?
Does Loki Have Conqueror’s Haki?

Loki ate the Devil Fruit said to “reach full power when Harald eats it.” He has Harald’s build, Harald’s horns, and Harald’s raw physical strength. He’s Harald’s natural successor. The question is whether he also inherited Conqueror’s Haki. At the time of Ch.1152, based on a suggestive line and some sound-effect visuals when he used Ragnaril, the probability felt around 30%. Now that Ch.1155 confirmed Harald had Conqueror’s Haki, and Ch.1156 establishes Loki as the clear successor, that probability is up to around 50%. A Conqueror’s Haki awakening later in the arc feels genuinely plausible.
On a related note: Conqueror’s Haki users are piling up. Yamato has it. If Sanji ends up without any, that feels genuinely unfair. Wake him up already.
More Rocks Pirates — Silver Axe and Barbel

Silver Axe finally appears — Shiki’s rival, a yakuza type. The kimono and yakuza aesthetic makes Wano origin seem likely. His tattoos and facial features look oddly similar to Admiral Ryokugyu (Green Bull). Nose, lips, the first-appearance framing — it raises the “parent and child?” question. Though if Ryokugyu had roots in Wano, it would be strange for him to say “non-member country citizens have no human rights” about his own people’s homeland.
Then there’s Barbel — a catfish Fish-Man. Fish-Man → Fish-Man Karate. Karate stance, spiky hair, massive beaded necklace… that’s Akuma (Gouki) from Street Fighter. Oda has drawn Street Fighter fan art in chapter covers, so the love is clearly there. Barbel’s model = Akuma, confirmed.
Barrel — The Demon’s Successor

From the Roger Pirates, the one that remains intriguing is Barrel. Shiki set the precedent that a movie villain can appear in the main story — so Barrel showing up in the manga proper is genuinely possible. Why was Barrel called “the Demon’s Successor” above Rayleigh, Gaban, and Shanks? That’s a question worth waiting on the manga to answer.
