Similarities Between Loki and Franky in One Piece
Franky’s scene ↑ is an homage to Loki from Norse mythology.
“Loki tied one end of a rope to his own testicles and the other end to a goat’s beard, and they had a bizarre tug-of-war with strange screams that made everyone laugh“
This legend is actually real.
This means Franky was modeled after Loki from Norse mythology.
And naturally, Elbaf’s Loki is also modeled after the Norse mythological Loki.
Since both Loki and Franky are based on the same character from the same mythology, there are a remarkable number of parallels between them — let me go through them.
Wrapped in Chains
- Attacked by enemies on the World Government’s side while wrapped in chains
- A battle wagering the key to unlock the Seastone cuffs
CP-9 and Spandam are outdone by the God Knights’ Shamrock.
The key battle of CP-9 vs. the Straw Hats was paralleled in Elbaf by Garvan vs. Luffy & Zoro.
Taming Animals in a Snowy Land
The First World of Elbaf where Loki was imprisoned was a land of extreme cold and snow.
There, Loki’s wild beast companions resided.
Meanwhile, Franky was also sent to the frigid winter island of Baldimore, where he befriended cyborg animals and made modifications to them.
A gorilla, a snake, and a canine — all three match perfectly.
Step-Brothers
Loki has a half-brother — Hyldin.
Franky has his senior apprentice Iceburg.
Both share a bond like step-brothers.
By the way, the chapter depicting Loki’s brother relationship was chapter 1137, and the volume depicting Franky and Iceburg as brothers was volume 37.
The World Government is Trash / The Celestial Dragons are Garbage
When Shamrock offered Loki a place in the God Knights, Loki called the Celestial Dragons “garbage.”
When Rob Lucci asked Franky about the location of the Pluton blueprints, Franky called the World Government “trash.”
Both harbor a grudge — their father figures were killed by the government?

Loki was attacked by a sword that had been fed a Devil Fruit.
Franky stopped an attack from a sword that had been fed a Devil Fruit.
A Propeller at the Neck
Cerberus’s collar spun into a propeller, soaring through the air to attack Loki.
Helikeratops’s frill spun into a propeller, soaring through the air to attack Franky.
Lightning Strike
Once freed from his Seastone restraints and unleashing his true power, Loki’s strike caused a bolt of lightning to fall.
In the Enies Lobby kitchen, when Franky refueled with cola, lightning flashed as a visual effect.
And then…
Hammer
Loki unleashed a powerful blow with a hammer called Ragnir (Iron Thunder).
Franky unleashed a powerful blow with the Iron Fist “Stronghammer.”
By the way, the chapter where Loki used Ragnir was chapter 1142, and the volume where Franky used Strong Hammer at full cola capacity was volume 42.
Galeila and Galley-La
A massive battalion of giant warrior shipwrights armed with hammers — the “Great Hammer Corps (Galeila)”.
These shipwrights, thought to be myths, were real.
But all 100+ warriors were captured by someone and became legends without ever returning to Elbaf.
Given the silhouette match, the giants frozen at Punk Hazard must be the “Great Hammer Corps (Galeila)” ↓
And the “clan” the Sea Kings mentioned who could repair the Ark Noah must also be the “Great Hammer Corps (Galeila).”
The size checks out, too.
And the one who could command the Galeila — Rocks believed that was Harald.
So the one to inherit Harald’s role and command the Galeila must be Loki.
That means: Franky commanded Galley-La Company to build the Thousand Sunny, while Loki will command the Galeila to repair the Ark Noah.
Their roles align here too.
