Harald Timeline & the God Valley Incident: How Rocks, Shanks & Loki Are Connected | ONE PIECE Film God Valley Theory

ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY

With ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY officially set for summer 2027, let’s organize the timeline and chronology of events surrounding the God Valley Incident.

The “O” letter in the promotional art is Roger’s symbol, so the protagonist is likely Roger, told from his perspective.

What about the later announced BAAD? Could it cover Rocks’ childhood up to becoming a pirate, or perhaps Teach surviving the God Valley Incident and joining Whitebeard’s crew?

Either way, BAAD seems likely to feature a villain as protagonist — probably a story focused on the Davy lineage.

Harald’s Timeline

Harald — arrogant king

Giants have lifespans three times longer than humans, so dividing by 3 gives the human age equivalent.

45 ÷ 3: Harald at age 45 is equivalent to a human 15-year-old.

If he was 45 years old 109 years ago, he would be 154 today. The closest human in age is Dr. Kureha (currently 141).

109 Years Ago: Age 45

Harald — power-hungry
Source: ONE PIECE Vol. 113, Eiichiro Oda/Shueisha

With the overwhelming strength of ancient giant blood and the power of Elbaf’s king, Harald acted as if he were a god.

He “slipped” while clearly intentionally kicking a subordinate, then laughed about it.

This mirrors Wapol, who “slipped” and deliberately struck Vivi at the Reverie.

That same year, Harald met Ida and had a change of heart.

Up to this point, it’s a homage to the Drum Kingdom arc.

Human equivalent: approximately 16 years old.

Four years after meeting Ida, Harald stopped looking down on humans and shifted his policy toward interacting with them as equals and learning from the wider world.

Luffy also went out to sea at 16, met Vivi, and learned that rampaging isn’t the answer.

Harald and Luffy are deliberately drawn as parallels.

81 Years Ago: Age 73

Human equivalent: 24 years old.

Hilduluin is born to Harald and Ida — 18 years after they met…

Perhaps there was a custom that the king couldn’t marry until reaching adult-equivalent age, or perhaps Harald prioritized diplomatic work until things settled down.

That same year, marriage to Ida was not permitted, and Harald was forced to marry Estrid instead.

Human equivalent: approximately 27 years old.

Harald engaged in successive international exchanges, teaching Elbaf’s navigation arts to various nations — including Wano Kingdom (shown above).

The reason Wano’s Shirmai port was large enough for the Numbers (ancient giants) to pass through was because it was built to welcome Harald!

That same year, Big Mom’s tantrum caused the Winter Solstice Festival — a ceremony of gratitude to the sun — to fail.

The country was struck by famine due to abnormal weather, fires, storms, cold waves, failed harvests, and poor fishing, but received food aid from various nations and managed to survive the crisis.

That same year, Estrid died. Until the day before Harald’s return, she had spread the rumor that all of Elbaf’s disasters were “Loki’s curse,” and she died despising her own child.

Because of this, Loki abandoned the idea of love while still just a few months old.

Estrid’s brother became Loki’s caretaker.
