【Main Story】

Continuing from last chapter, the battle between Zoro and Somers takes center stage.

Somers tries to figure out why Zoro’s attacks haven’t been imbued with Conqueror’s Haki.

Was it Conqueror’s Haki that let him cut through the thorn cage? Or was it a heat-based attack exploiting the thorns’ weakness? Or did he only briefly coat his attack with it?

Either way, Somers notices Zoro’s attacks are inconsistent and decides to take him down quickly — but Zoro instantly counters by stabbing him through the heart from behind.

Even while being stabbed, Somers anxiously wonders: “Was that Conqueror’s or not?” — then sees the wound automatically heal and sighs with relief: “No Conqueror’s Haki!”

Somers retaliates with “Ibara Launcher,” a thorn-snake projectile — but Zoro dodges it with ease.

While dodging, Zoro uses Three-Sword Style: Hyokin-dama to slice off Somers’ arm — but it regenerates instantly, and Zoro mutters, “Still not it,” continuing to experiment.

As he fights, Zoro recalls Luffy’s Conqueror’s Haki knocking out 50,000 men at Fish-Man Island, and Gyaban’s lecture, and reflects on how he once thought Conqueror’s Haki had nothing to do with him.

He unleashes Sen Hachi Juu Bon Do Hou — and at last, the slash is coated in Conqueror’s Haki — but Somers manages to dodge it.

Feeling like he’s on the verge of grasping something, Zoro keeps slicing off Somers’ arms, legs, and neck repeatedly — all while recalling words from his training days with Mihawk.

Mihawk: “Listen, Roronoa. All things must change. But there is one thing that can remain unchanging.”

Enraged from being cut apart so many times, Somers points at Zoro and shouts: “You have no qualities of a king!!” — only for Zoro to cut off that very hand with a Conqueror’s Haki-imbued slash.

Seeing Somers’ hand not regenerate, Zoro once again hears Mihawk’s words in his mind.

“Something that every Conqueror inevitably possesses. Something that never changes.”

Zoro ties a headband around his head, his memories of Mihawk filling his mind.

“Remember this — Conqueror’s Haki is the ‘self’ so overwhelming that the weak cannot even stand in its presence.”

All three swords clad in lightning, his haki in perfect harmony — the figure before Somers is nothing less than a true Conqueror.

With everything in place to finish off Somers — the chapter ends.
